Ian Dear has a remarkable ability to get to the heart of legal matters, sorting the critical issues from the peripheral ones, as a basis for quickly developing cost effective strategies that work.
Since joining Septimus Jones & Lee as a Para Legal in March 2005, Ian has earned the respect of everyone at the practice through his tireless efforts to support the practice and is a vital cog in the fabric of the firm, providing strategic guidance for clients, with the Commercial team.
Originally from England, Ian's resume is replete with experience in both the legal and business world. Since arriving in Australia 35 years ago, Ian has built a prodigious level of experience (Ian is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors) within the Commercial, Corporate, Asset Protection, Insolvency and Bankruptcy arenas.
Away from his busy working schedule, Ian is also an avid sports enthusiast with an enviable family pedigree in sports, having competed in World, National and State Masters Swimming Championships. In addition Ian is a Past President, and now Life Member, of The Australian Swimming Coaches' and Teachers' Association of Victoria, as well he is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association.
Always pragmatic in his approach and renowned for his broad knowledge and strategic astuteness in applying that information, Ian is a foundation stone that continues to support and enhance the efforts of everyone in his department and the practice.
