Heading up our Family Law Department is the renowned Accredited Family Law Specialist, Kate Mitchell. With over 20 years experience in law both at home and abroad in the UK, she has had a distinguished career and has continued to lead the way at Septimus Jones & Lee since joining as a partner in 2000.
Well practiced and proficient in all areas of Family Law, Kate is a respected member of both the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, as well as the Family Law Section of the Law Institute of Victoria.
Kate is a recognised leader within her department and firm, bringing real energy, direction and drive to her team.
Her singular belief that there are very few if any problems that cannot be solved by finding creative and practical solutions and alternatives for her clients and the satisfaction of doing so, remain the key driver that continue to motivate Kate working in Family Law.
This is particularly true for example, in financial cases where a great deal of Kate's focus is directed at negotiating and resolving financial matters our of court, and in so doing achieving welcomed and less stressful outcomes for her clients.
